Description

Berkeley Security Software (BSS) provides a suite of cybersecurity tools designed to protect UC Berkeley's information assets and IT infrastructure. Having the software ensures compliance with UC system-wide cybersecurity standards while reducing the time and resources needed to respond to cyberattacks. For business needs that prevent the installation of EDR, you may request an exception.

Service Offering Details

Eligibility
  • Faculty, Staff, and/or Researcher (excludes student-employees, including GSRs/GSIs)
  • You use a university-owned machine (i.e., purchased with university funds, including grants).
  • Your computer isn’t already running Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) with another organization (e.g., University Health Services, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, another UC location, etc.).
  • You run a supported operating system (macOS, Windows, some Linux)
  • Not currently using a managed Berkeley Desktop
